Traffic stop in Hawarden leads to arrest for several charges – June 6

On Thursday, June 6, at 10:31 p.m., the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office arrested Parrish Slover, age 58, of Hawarden, IA.
The arrest stemmed from a traffic stop that occurred in Hawarden, IA.
Sioux County K-9 Rocky was deployed and positively indicated to the presence of narcotics in Slover’s vehicle. A subsequent search of the vehicle revealed marijuana, several open containers of alcohol, and a stolen firearm.
Upon further investigation, it was discovered Slover was involved in a burglary that occurred in Hawarden, where two firearms were reported stolen; the firearm recovered from Slover’s vehicle was identified as one of the stolen firearms in the burglary. Deputies also suspected that Slover was intoxicated.
Slover was transported to the Sioux County Jail where he was charged with possession of a controlled substance, operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated, possession of a stolen firearm, accessory after the fact and possession of a firearm while intoxicated.
