“Operation Safe Treats” begins this summer

The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office is thrilled to join forces with Sioux Center Culvers for the inspiring “Operation Safe Treats” Campaign. This summer, our deputies will be actively patrolling as usual, but also keeping a watchful eye on the safety habits of the children in our communities. Whether it’s riding their bikes with helmets, crossing streets responsibly, or buckling up in vehicles, we’re on the lookout for exemplary behavior.

Children spotted practicing these safety measures will receive a special “citation” for a Free Mini Concrete Mixer at Sioux Center Culver’s. Our aim with this campaign is not just to reward good behavior, but to reinforce it, instilling vital safety habits in the young members of our community. Moreover, these positive interactions between children and law enforcement officers are invaluable for building trust and fostering strong community relationships.

While we won’t be making stops solely for distributing coupons, if deputies observe children demonstrating safety during lawful traffic stops, they may seize the opportunity to reward them.

Parents, please remind your children to always wear their helmets while biking and to stay vigilant around traffic. The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office wishes everyone a summer filled with safety and fun!

The Sheriff’s Office would like to thank the Sioux Center Culver’s for partnering with us on this meaningful campaign, further enhancing our efforts to keep our communities safe.
