Commercial motor vehicle accident south of Hospers – April 2

On Tuesday, April 2, at 5:55 a.m., the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office investigated a commercial motor vehicle accident that occurred on Highway 60, two miles south of Hospers, IA.

Dylan Coyle, age 30, of Manly, IA, was driving a 2008 Peterbilt semi-truck pulling a livestock trailer loaded with pigs southbound on Highway 60 when he lost control of the vehicle and entered the median; the semi-tractor and trailer rolled onto its side.

The truck and trailer sustained approximately $350,000 in damage.

No injuries were reported.

Coyle was cited for Failure to Maintain Control of a motor vehicle.

The sheriff’s office was assisted by the Hospers Fire Department, Hospers Ambulance, Iowa Department of Transportation Highway Department. The sheriff’s office thanks the area farmers who assisted with loose pigs.
