Two people arrested following traffic stop south of Sioux Center – March 9

On Saturday, March 9, at 11:24 p.m., the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office and Sioux Center Police Department arrested Alex Watterson, age 32 and Jake Vlotho, age 32, both of Ireton, IA.

The arrest stemmed from a traffic stop that occurred on Highway 75, one mile south of Sioux Center, IA.

Upon further investigation officers discovered illegal drugs in Watterson’s possession and determined he was in violation of a Court-ordered protection order. Vlotho was the driver of the vehicle and it was discovered his driver’s license was barred. (Vlotho arrested by the Sioux Center Police Department.)

Watterson and Vlotho were transported to the Sioux County Jail where Watterson was charged with violation of a protection order, possession of Cannabidioil and possession of drug paraphernalia. Vlotho was charged with operating a motor vehicle with a barred driver’s license and No SR-22 (high-risk driver) Insurance.

The sheriff’s office K-9 Unit assisted in the investigation.
