On Monday, December 4, at 7:46 a.m., the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office investigated a motor vehicle accident that occurred on Coolidge Avenue, four miles northeast of Hawarden, IA.
Maykol Garcia-Meza, age 23, of Sioux Falls, SD was driving a 2014 Ram Promaster van southbound on Coolidge Avenue when he lost control, entered the west ditch and rolled.
Garcia-Meza was transported by the Hawarden Ambulance to Hawarden Regional Healthcare for treatment of minor injuries.
The Ram sustained approximately $12,000 in damage.
Garcia-Meza was cited for operating a motor vehicle without a valid driver’s license and failure to maintain control of a motor vehicle.
The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Hawarden Fire Department, Hawarden Ambulance, and Iowa State Patrol.
