Three vehicles involved in motor vehicle accident north of Sioux Center – November 6

On Monday, November 6, at 6:05 p.m., the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office investigated a motor vehicle accident that occurred on highway 75; one mile north of Sioux Center, IA.

Viviana Ramos-Valencia, age 29, of Hull, IA, was driving a 2017 Chevrolet Tahoe northbound on Highway 75. Megan Willits, age 39, of Sioux Center, was driving a 2014 Chrysler Town & Country minivan westbound on a private driveway. Kelly Eisma, age 52, of Hawarden, IA, was driving a 2022 Peterbilt semi-truck/trailer southbound on Highway 75. Willits entered onto Highway 75 to drive southbound and struck Ramos-Valencia and Eisma.

Ramos, Willits and a 13-year-old passenger in the Chrysler were transported by the Sioux Center Ambulance to Sioux Center Health for treatment of minor injuries. Eisma was uninjured.

The Chevrolet sustained approximately $20,000 in damage. The Chrysler sustained an estimated $10,000 in damage. The Peterbilt sustained approximately $15,000 in damage.

Willits was cited for fail to yield upon entering a highway. Ramos was arrested and charged operating a motor vehicle with a barred driver’s license.

The sheriff’s office was assisted by the Sioux Center Police Department, Sioux Center Ambulance and Sioux Center Fire Department.
