On Wednesday, November 1, at 9:20 p.m., the Sioux County Sheriff’s office charged Ayden Joslin, age 18, of Hospers, IA, for vehicle theft.
The arrest and charge stemmed from a joint case investigation between the sheriff’s office and the Sioux Center Police Department that began when the sheriff’s office received a report of a vehicle that was stolen from a residence in Hospers.
Sioux Center Police Officers later located the stolen vehicle in Sioux Center, attempted to stop the driver; after a vehicle pursuit in Sioux Center, the vehicle struck a curb and became disabled on a lawn. Joslin was the driver of the vehicle and was taken into custody without incident.
Joslin was transported to the Sioux County Jail where he was charged by the Sioux Center Police Department with several traffic violations and felony eluding; the sheriff’s office charged him with theft for stealing the vehicle from the Hospers resident.
