On Wednesday, October 4 at 9:12 a.m., The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office investigated a commercial vehicle accident that occurred on Highway 18, one mile west of Boyden, IA.
Meghan Den Hartog, age 25, of Hull, IA, was driving a 2013 Ford Edge eastbound on Highway 18 when she met a westbound pickup truck pulling a trailer. As the two met, a white plastic barrel fell from the trailer and struck the Ford.
The westbound vehicle pulling the trailer did not stop at the scene.
Anyone with information on the pickup and trailer is asked to contact the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office.
