On Sunday, August 20, at 6:05 p.m., the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office arrested Charles Kneifl, age 46, of Pender, NE.
The arrest stemmed from a report to Sioux County Communications from a motorist south of Alton, IA, reporting a red Ford F-350 being driven southbound on Highway 60, swerving back and forth between lanes in a dangerous manner.
A deputy sheriff was close to the reported location, saw the same red pickup swerve onto the shoulder, and stopped it.
Upon further investigation, Kneifl was identified as the driver of the red Ford and deputies suspected that he was under the influence of alcohol.
Kneifl was transported to the Sioux County Jail where he was charged with operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated.
