Traffic Stop west of Sioux Center leads to arrest – July 28

On Friday, July 28, at 10:23 a.m., the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office arrested Jonathon De Bondt, age 31, of Sioux Center, IA.

The arrest stemmed from a traffic stop that occurred on 390^th Street, one mile west of Sioux Center.

Upon further investigation, deputies suspected De Bondt was under the influence of a drug; K-9 Rocky indicated the presence of illegal drugs in the vehicle.

Drug Recognition experts from the Sheriff’s Office and Rock Valley Police Department evaluated De Bondt and determined he was under the influence of a drug.

De Bondt was transported to the Sioux County Jail where he was charged with operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated 1^st offense and third offense possession of a controlled substance.

The sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Rock Valley Police Department and the sheriff’s office K-9 unit.
