On Wednesday, July 26, at 12:31 p.m., the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office investigated a motor vehicle accident that occurred on Highway 60, two miles north of Hospers, IA.
Rebecca Strait, age 36, of Primghar, IA, was driving a 2014 Mitsubishi Outlander northbound on Highway 60 when she lost control of the vehicle and entered the east ditch; the vehicle came to rest in a corn field.
Strait was transported by the Hospers Ambulance to Sanford Sheldon Medical Center for treatment of her injuries.
The Mitsubishi sustained an estimated $500 in damage; the damage to the corn was estimated at $1,500
The sheriff’s office was assisted by the Hospers Fire Department and Hospers Ambulance.
The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
