The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office would like to send another reminder along with a request from our paving crews to please stay out of construction zones in our area; this unfortunate incident happened when someone thought it was alright to drive through wet concrete in the construction zone near county roads B-40 and K-42 west of Sioux Center. Now, crews need to replace that area, delaying the progress. In this particular incident, the suspect vehicle is believed to be a black pickup.
Please do not move any cones and signs used to deter traffic. It can be difficult to tell the difference between cured concrete and fresh concrete after they spray the top with white curing compound, which is why they set cones and signs.
We want the projects completed just as much as everyone, but these type of incidents only make it take longer. Thank you for attention to this.
