On Sunday, June 4, at 3:38 a.m., the Sioux County Sheriff’s office arrested Cameron Shellhammer, age 24, of Sioux City, IA.
The arrest occurred following the investigation of a motor vehicle accident that occurred on 310th Street, two miles northwest of Boyden, IA.
Shellhammer was driving a 2012 Chevrolet Tahoe Eastbound on 310TH Street when he lost control of the vehicle entered the ditch and and struck a concrete culvert.
No injuries were reported.
The Tahoe sustained an estimated $5,000 in damage and the culvert sustained an estimated $500 in damage.
Upon further investigation, deputies suspected that Shellhammer was under the influence of alcohol.
Shellhammer was transported to the Sioux County Jail where he was charged with operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated.
