On Monday, April 24, at 8:34 a.m., the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office arrested Ronald Bonestroo, age 69, of Hull, IA.
The arrest stemmed from an investigation into a report that Bonestroo was violating the conditions of being a registrant of the Iowa Sex Offender Registry.
Upon further investigation, deputies discovered Bonestroo sent a friend request to a Facebook group a woman manages for young girls. After his name was initially added, he was recognized as being registered on the Iowa Sex Offender Registry and his account was blocked that evening.
Bonestroo was convicted of attempting commercial sex trafficking in another state in 2013.
Bonestroo was charged with violation of sex offender registration violation.
