On Friday, March 10, at 6:42 a.m., the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office investigated a motor vehicle accident that occurred on Highway 60, one-half miles south of Sheldon, IA.
Jose Melendez-Rosa, age 39, of Worthington MN, was driving a 2001 Toyota Celica southbound on Highway 60 when he lost control of the vehicle and struck a bridge.
No injuries were reported.
Damage to the Toyota was estimated at $6,000.
Melendez-Rosa was cited for operating a motor vehicle without a valid drivers license and failure to maintain control of a motor vehicle.
The sheriff’s office was assisted by the Sheldon Police Department and Iowa State Patrol.
