On Tuesday, February 28, at 6:09 p.m., the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office investigated a motor vehicle accident that occurred on Highway 60, in Hospers, IA.
Kendall Ruschmann, age 49, of Hospers, was driving a 2023 GMC Acadia southbound on Highway 60 when he indicated a right turn onto 400th Street (County Highway B-40). Due to icy road conditions, he was not able to slow down for the turn. Another vehicle that was at the stop sign at 400th Street drove east into the intersection was struck by Ruschmann; both drivers spoke with one another before the unknown driver left the scene before being identified.
No injuries were reported.
Damage to the GMC was estimated at $1,000.
