On Monday, December 12, at 5:38 a.m., the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office investigated a motor vehicle accident that occurred on Highway 60, one mile south of Sheldon, IA.
Sarah Lerma, age 20, of Sheldon, was driving a 2020 Ford Explorer southbound on Highway 60 when she lost control of the vehicle, entered the median and rolled.
Lerma was transported by the Sheldon Ambulance to Sanford Sheldon Medical Center for treatment of her injuries.
Damage to the Ford was estimated at $10,000.
The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Sheldon Fire Department, Sheldon Ambulance, Sheldon Police Department and the O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office.
