On Friday, October 28, at 8:08 a.m., the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office investigated a motor vehicle accident that occurred at the intersection of Highway 75 and Highway 10, two miles north of Maurice, IA.
Brevan Obbink, age 15, of Ireton, IA, was driving a 2011 Buick Lacrosse eastbound on Highway 10. Kimberly Rens, age 43, of Ireton, was driving a 2013 GMC Acadia northbound on Highway 75. Obbink failed to yield from the stop sign, entered the intersection and the two struck.
No injuries were reported.
The Buick sustained approximately $8,000 in damage. The GMC sustained approximately $5,000 in damage.
The sheriff’s office was assisted by the Maurice First Responders.
Obbink was cited for fail to yield from a stop sign.
