One injured in motor vehicle accident with farm tractor east of Sioux Center – October 10

On Monday, October 10, at 8:47 p.m., the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office investigated a motor vehicle accident that occurred on 400th Street; three miles east of Sioux Center, IA.

Joshua Schelling, age 19, of Orange City, IA, was driving a 1979 John Deere farm tractor pulling a manure spreader westbound on 400th Street. Tina Timmerman, age 59, of Orange City, was driving a 2017 Ford Escape westbound on 400 Street behind Schelling. Schelling slowed to left onto Indian Avenue and Timmerman struck Schelling.

Timmerman was transported by the Sioux Center Ambulance to Sioux Center Health for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. Schelling was not injured.

The Ford sustained approximately $20,000 in damage; the manure spreader sustained $500 damage.

The sheriff’s office was assisted by Sioux Center Police Department, Sioux Center Ambulance and the Sioux Center Fire Department.

The accident remains under investigation.
