On Monday September 19, at 04:32 p.m., the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office investigated a hit-and-run commercial motor vehicle accident that occurred on Highway 75, three miles northwest of Hull, IA.
Harlan Kruid, age 56, of Steen, MN, was driving a 2021 Kenworth semi-tractor northbound on Highway 75 when a brown or tan Peterbilt semi-tractor pulling a cattle trailer traveling southbound on Highway 75 entered the northbound lane and side-swiped Kruid. The Peterbilt did not stop and continued southbound on Highway 75.
Kruid was transported by the Hull Ambulance to Avera Merrill Pioneer Hospital in Rock Rapids, IA, for treatment of minor injuries.
Damage to the Kenworth was estimated at $800; itt is unknown what damage occurred to the Peterbilt.
