On Thursday, May 26, at 7:53 a.m., the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office investigated a motor vehicle accident that occurred at the intersection of Highway 75 and 360th Street, two miles north of Sioux Center, IA.
Kelly De Haan, age 27, of Hull, IA, was driving a 2012 GMC Acadia eastbound on 360th Street. Tayler De Ruyter, age 27, of Rock Valley, IA, was driving a 2018 Ford Explorer behind De Haan. As the vehicles approached the stop sign for Highway 75, De Ruyter struck De Haan.
No injuries were reported.
The GMC sustained approximately $1,000 in damage. The Ford sustained an estimated $3,000 in damage.
De Ruyter was cited for following too close.
