Investigation leads to arrest – May 15

On Sunday, May 15, at 7:50 a.m., the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office arrested Jamie Arens, age 49, of Hawarden, IA.

The charges stemmed from a joint investigation between the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office and Plymouth County Sheriff’s Office, who were investigating Arens’ suspected involvement in criminal activity in the two counties. The investigation led to the execution of a search warrant of Arens’ address at 1263 505th Street south of Hawarden.

Arens was transported to the Sioux County Jail where he was charged with third degree burglary, fifth degree theft, first degree trespassing and operating a motor vehicle with a suspended driver’s license; additional charges are pending in Plymouth County.
