On Thursday, April 21, at 7:59 a.m., the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office investigated a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Main Street and County Road South, in Hospers, IA.
Anna Evink, age 18, of Hospers, was driving a 2006 Pontiac G6 south bound on County Road South; she stopped at the stop sign at Main Street. Colton Cuevas, age 27, of Paullina, IA, was driving a 2002 Ford Taurus westbound on Main Street; he stopped for the stop sign at County Road South. Evink began turning left and due to frost on her windshield, was unable to see Cuevas and struck the Ford.
No injuries were reported.
The Pontiac sustained approximately $4,000 in damage. Damage to the Ford was estimated at $500.
Evink was for failure to maintain her windshield. Cuevas was cited for operating an uninsured motor vehicle.
