Vehicle moves over for stopped patrol vehicle, strikes another motorist south of Sioux Center – April 8

On Friday, April 8, at 8:45 p.m., the Sioux County Sheriff’s office investigated a motor vehicle accident that occurred on Hwy 75, two miles south of Sioux Center, IA.

Terry Woodky, age 63, of Marinette, WI, was driving a 2011 Ford F-150 northbound on Hwy 75. Lynnette Pennings, age 60, of Orange City, IA, was driving a  2010 Ford Edge southbound on Highway 75. Due to a patrol vehicle that was stopped with its emergency lights activated behind another motorist on the northbound shoulder, Woodky moved into the southbound lane where he struck Pennings.

No injuries were reported.

The F-150 sustained an estimated $17,000 in damage. The Edge sustained approximately $15,000 in damage.

The sheriff’s office was assisted by the Sioux Center Police Department.
