On Thursday, March 3, at 5:10 a.m., the Sioux County Sheriff’s office investigated a motor vehicle accident that occurred at the intersection of Highway 10 and Coolidge Avenue, four miles east of Hawarden, IA.
Matthew Potter, age 34, of Sioux Falls, SD, was driving a 2022 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross westbound on Highway 10 when he attempted to turn north onto Coolidge Avenue, swerved to avoid a deer on the roadway, lost control of the vehicle, entered the west ditch and rolled.
No injuries were reported.
The Mitsubishi sustained an estimated $32,000 in damage.
