Motor vehicle accident – January 14

On Friday, January 14, at 4:28 p.m., the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office investigated a motor vehicle accident that occurred on Highway 75, two miles south of Sioux Center, IA.

John Cave, age 66, of Ireton, IA, was driving a 2006 Chevrolet Equinox southbound on Highway 75. Neftali Ramos, age 20, of Sioux Center ,was driving a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee northbound on Highway 75. Ramos lost control of the vehicle, crossed the center of the roadway and the two struck.

Cave and Ramos were transported by the Sioux Center Ambulance to Sioux Center Health for treatment of minor injuries.

The Chevrolet and Jeep each sustained approximately $9,000 in damage.

Ramos was cited for fail to maintain control of motor vehicle and operating a motor vehicle without a valid drivers license.

The sheriff’s office was assisted by the Sioux Center Ambulance, Sioux Center Fire Department and Iowa State Patrol.
