On Sunday, December 5, at 8:24 a.m., the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office investigated a motor vehicle accident that occurred on Cherry Avenue, three miles north of Hawarden, IA.
Aurora De Herrera, age 49, of Rock Valley, IA, was driving a 2014 Chevrolet Silverado northbound on Cherry Avenue when she lost control of the vehicle and entered the west ditch.
Three passengers were transported by private vehicle to Hegg Health Center for treatment of minor injuries.
The Chevrolet sustained approximately $10,000 in damage.
De Herrera was cited for failure to maintain control of a motor vehicle and fail to use safety belt.
The sheriff’s office was assisted by the Rock Valley Police Department, Hawarden Police Department and Iowa State Patrol.
