On Thursday, August 26, at 4:23 p.m., the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office investigated a motor vehicle accident that occurred at the intersection of Highway 18 and Colfax Street, in Boyden, IA.
Jennifer Iedema, age 45, of Archer, IA, was driving a 2015 Dodge Durango eastbound on Highway 18. Donna Meyer, age 82, of Boyden, was driving a 2008 Chevrolet Uplander eastbound on Highway 18 behind Iedema. Iedema slowed for another turning vehicle and Meyer struck the Dodge.
A passenger in the Dodge was transported by the Boyden Ambulance to Orange City Area Health for treatment of minor injuries. A passenger in the Chevrolet was transported by the Boyden Ambulance to Sanford Sheldon Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries.
Meyer was cited for following too close.
The sheriff’s office was assisted by the Boyden Fire Department and Boyden Ambulance.
