On Thursday, July 1, at 4:20 p.m., the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office investigated a motor vehicle accident that occurred at the intersection of Highway 18 and Garfield Avenue, two miles east of Rock Valley, IA.
Alisa Anderson, age 22, of Rock Valley was driving a 2008 Chrysler Town & Country minivan eastbound on Highway 18. Damion Reuvers, age 18, of Boyden, IA was driving a 2011 Chevrolet Silverado pickup eastbound on Highway 18 behind Anderson. Anderson slowed to turn left onto Garfield Avenue and Reuvers struck the Chrysler.
Anderson was transported by the Rock Valley Ambulance to Hegg Health Center in Rock Valley for treatment of minor injuries. Reuvers reported minor injuries and declined further medical attention.
The Chrysler sustained approximately $9,000 in damage. The Chevrolet sustained an estimated $11,000 in damage.
Reuvers was cited for following too close.
The sheriff’s office was assisted by the Rock Valley Police Department, Rock Valley Fire Department, Rock Valley Ambulance and Iowa State Patrol.
