On Tuesday, June 29, at 4:13 p.m., the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office investigated a motor vehicle accident that occurred on Coolidge Avenue, eight miles southwest of Rock Valley, IA; the accident actually happened at approximately 5:40 a.m.
Jacob Kamp, age 17, of Hawarden, IA was driving a 2003 Ford Windstar minivan northbound on Coolidge Avenue when he struck a road closed sign, lost control of the vehicle, entered the east ditch and rolled.
No injuries were reported.
The Ford sustained approximately $1,000 in damage. The sign sustained an estimated $500 in damage.
Kamp was cited for striking a fixture on a highway.
