On Saturday, April 17, at 6:04 p.m., the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office investigated a motor vehicle accident that occurred on Highway 60, two miles south of Hospers, IA.
Enoch Durant, age 28, of Milford, IA was driving a 2019 Nissan Maxima southbound on Highway 60 when he lost control of the vehicle and entered the west ditch.
No injuries were reported.
The Nissan sustained approximately $8,000 in damage.
Investigating deputies discovered that there was an active protection order in place and the protected party, a child of Durant, was a passenger in the vehicle.
Durant was cited for failure to maintain control of a motor vehicle and no motor vehicle insurance. He was arrested and transported to the Sioux County Jail where he was charged with violating a protection order.
The sheriff’s office was assisted by the Hospers Fire Department, Hospers Ambulance, and the Orange City Police Department.
