With our Covid-19 numbers and hospitalizations going up, Sioux County Emergency Management continues to support our local first responders, health care workers, schools and the community during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Emergency Management Director Huizenga echoes the request from our local health care professionals to help keep our communities safe by practicing social distancing and wearing a mask.
Sioux County Emergency Management Director, Nate Huizenga, states that his office has been busy obtaining personal protective gear (PPE) and test kits that are vital to fighting Covid-19.
Huizenga works with the Iowa Department of Homeland Security and Emergency Management to support hospitals, nursing homes, and schools to obtain masks, gowns and other PPE. Once a need is identified, the information is forwarded to the State for procurement. The PPE is then delivered to Sioux County. Deliveries are then made throughout the county by Sioux County Emergency Management and Sheriff’s Deputies from the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office.
