On Wednesday, October 14, at 5:09 p.m., the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office investigated a motor vehicle accident that occurred on Kennedy Avenue, one and one-half miles south of Boyden, IA.
Emma Wells, age 18, of Boyden was driving a 2007 Pontiac Grand Prix northbound on Kennedy Avenue when she lost control of the vehicle and entered the east ditch.
Wells was transported by the Boyden Ambulance to Sanford Sheldon Medical Center for treatment of her injuries.
The Pontiac sustained approximately $4,000 in damage.
Wells was cited for failure to maintain control of a motor vehicle.
The sheriff’s office was assisted by the Boyden Ambulance and Boyden Fire Department.
