On Saturday, October 3, at 12:28 a.m., the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office investigated a motor vehicle accident that occurred at the intersection of 390th Street and Cherry Avenue, five miles northeast of Hawarden, IA.
Jasmine Negus, age 20, of Sioux Center, IA was driving a 2006 Mercury Mariner northbound on Cherry Avenue. She attempted to turn right onto 390th Street, lost control of the vehicle, entered the north ditch and rolled.
Negus was transported by the Hawarden Ambulance to Hawarden Regional Healthcare for treatment of minor injuries.
The Mercury sustained approximately $5,000 in damage.
Negus was cited for failure to maintain control of a motor vehicle.
The sheriff’s office was assisted by the Hawarden Police Department, Hawarden Ambulance and Hawarden Fire Department.
