On Tuesday, September 29, at 5:49 p.m., the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office investigated a motor vehicle accident that occurred at the intersection of 420th Street and Grant Avenue, one mile south of Sioux Center, IA.
Tauney Lockhart, age 37, of Sioux Center was driving a 2001 Dodge Grand Caravan westbound on 420th Street. Paul Klusman, age 74, of Phoenix, AZ was driving a 1996 Peterbilt semi-tractor pulling a Wilson grain trailer southbound on Grant Avenue; the two struck in the intersection.
Lockhart was transported by the Sioux Center Ambulance to Sioux Center Health by the Sioux Center Ambulance for treatment of her injuries.
The Dodge sustained approximately $10,000 in damage. The Peterbilt sustained an estimated $15,000 in damage.
Klusman was cited for failure to obey a stop sign.
The sheriff’s office was assisted by the Sioux Center Police Department, Sioux Center Ambulance and Sioux Center Fire Department.
