Information sought in hit-and-run motor vehicle accident – August 23

On Sunday, August 23, at 5:12 a.m., the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office investigated a report of a hit-and-run motor vehicle accident that occurred on 380th Street, two miles northwest of Sioux Center, IA.

Ronaldo Tomas, age 27, of Rock Valley, IA was driving a 2004 Ford Mustang eastbound on 380th Street. An unknown make, model and color pickup traveling westbound on 380th Street crossed the center of the roadway and sideswiped Tomas. The pickup did not stop, continued traveling westbound and was not located.

No injuries were reported.

The Ford sustained approximately $4,000 in damage. The pickup will likely have damage to its front-driver side area.

The sheriff’s office was assisted by the Sioux Center Police Department.
