On Wednesday, July 15, at 4:24 p.m., the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office investigated a motor vehicle accident that occurred at the intersection of 370th Street and Hickory Avenue, three miles northeast of Sioux Center, IA.
Dayton Williamson, age 28, of Worthington, MN was driving a 2002 Ford F-150 eastbound on 370th Street. He reported a northbound blue minivan on Hickory Avenue failed to yield from the stop sign and entered westbound onto 370th Street, causing him to swerve to avoid striking it, lose control of his vehicle, enter the north ditch and roll.
Williamson reported minor injuries and declined further medical attention.
The Ford sustained approximately $2,000 in damage.
Zhulin was cited for fail to yield right of way from stop sign.
The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Sioux Center Police Department, Sioux Center Ambulance and Sioux Center Fire Department.
