On Wednesday, June 3, 4:55 a.m., the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office investigated a motor vehicle accident that occurred on 410th Street, three miles southwest of Sioux Center, IA.
Natividad de Tomas, age 34, of Rock Valley, IA was driving a 2007 Suzuki XL7 westbound on 410th Street. Daniel Wieling, age 57, of Ireton, IA was driving a 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee eastbound on 410th Street. De Tomas attempted to turn left onto a residential driveway and the two struck.
De Tomas was transported by the Sioux Center Ambulance to Sioux Center Health for treatment of her injuries.
The Suzuki sustained approximately $1,500 in damage. The Jeep sustained an estimated $1,200 in damage.
De Tomas was cited for operating a motor vehicle without a valid driver’s license and making an unsafe turn.
The sheriff’s office was assisted by the Sioux Center Police Department, Sioux Center Fire Department and Sioux Center Ambulance.
