Congratulations to our drone team for the article featured in Unnanned Aerial Magazine-Great job!

The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office currently has two drones they are able to use in search and rescue, fire scenes, accident investigations, investigations, missing persons and other similar incidents.

Captain Jamie Van Voorst said, “The drone program that we began in 2017 has proven much more valuable then we originally imagined. It’s always great when we see the training and drone use come together to help others.”

The sheriff’s office drone pilots consist of four personnel that are certified through the Federal Aviation Administration as small unmanned aircraft systems (sUAS) pilots.
