On Friday, April 24, at 4:19 p.m., the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office and its Technical Accident Investigator investigated a motor vehicle accident that occurred on Highway 18, one mile west of Hull, IA.
Keegan Robinson, age 25, of Le Mars, IA was driving a 2011 Kia Sorento westbound on Highway 18. Christopher Kelderman, age 36, of Doon, IA was driving a 2016 Ford F-350 Super Duty pickup northbound on Harrison Avenue. Kelderman failed to stop for the stop sign at Highway 18, entered the intersection and the two struck; both vehicles entered the north ditch and rolled.
Robinson and a passenger, Jordan Jacobsen, age 19, of Le Mars were both transported by Hull Ambulance to Sioux Center Health; both were later flown to Avera Mckennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD for further treatment of serious injuries. Kelderman was transported by the Sioux Center Ambulance to the Orange City Hospital for treatment of his injures.
The Kia sustained approximately $7,ooo in damage. The Ford sustained an estimated $28,000 in damage.
The sheriff’s office was assisted by the Hull Fire Department, Hull Ambulance and Sioux Center Ambulance.
Alcohol is believed to be a factor and the accident remains under investigation.
