Traffic stop leads to driver’s arrest, several passengers charged – March 14

On Saturday, March 14, at 2:01 a.m., the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office arrested Andrew Dunn, age 21, of Le Mars, IA and charged several others.

The arrest and charges stemmed from a sheriffs’ deputy’s discovery of an occupied vehicle in the ditch on 430th Street, two miles south of Sioux Center, IA. The vehicle had been driven by Dunn and was also occupied by six passengers.

Upon further investigation it was discovered that Dunn intentionally drove the vehicle into the ditch. The deputy also suspected that Dunn was under the influence of alcohol and the passengers were in possession of alcohol.

Dunn was transported to the Sioux County Jail where he was charged with operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated. All of the passengers were charged with possession of alcohol under the age of 21. They were: Trevor LeLoux, age 19, and Zachary Vogelzang, age 18, both of Alvord, IA, Bailey Susie, age 19, of Hills, MN, Kaden Huisman, age 19, of Rock Rapids, IA, Keegan Smit, age 18, of Sheldon, IA and Ryan Ramstad, age 18, of Crooks, SD.
