Public safety reminder: manually activate your vehicle’s headlights when fog is present

The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office wants to remind all motorists to use your low-beam headlights during foggy conditions.

Spring season is also a time when we encounter dense fog more often during our morning commutes; we want all motorists to practice this safety tip: Manually turn on your headlights when foggy conditions are present.

Many vehicles are equipped with automatic headlights; unfortunately, when in this setting, headlights are seldom activated in foggy conditions. This poses obvious safety concerns to other motorists.

Please take the time to practice getting into this very important habit to help make the roads safer for everyone.
