Traffic Stop Class

Our School Resource Officer (SRO), Deputy Waylon Pollema teaches traffic stop awareness education at various schools he is in around Sioux County.

The purpose of this instruction is to make teens, who are about to receive their driver’s license, more aware of how to conduct themselves in the event they are stopped by law enforcement.

This instruction is not provided as a part of the driver’s education curriculum; it gives teens a good idea of how a traffic stop is conducted from the law enforcement point of view as well as from the point of view of a driver who is being stopped.

The training conducted in a relaxed atmosphere in the classroom and outside of the school. There are always many questions and Pollema has heard feedback from students who say the class was very beneficial.
