On Wednesday, January 15, at 5:22 a.m., the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office investigated a motor vehicle accident that occurred on Highway 10, two and one-half miles northeast of Ireton, IA.
Tanner Bundy, age 27, of Akron, IA was driving a 2019 Ford F-150 eastbound on Highway 10. Sara Arce, age 28, of Hawarden, IA was driving a 2007 Ford Focus eastbound on Highway 10 behind Bundy. Arce entered the westbound lane to pass Bundy, lost control of the vehicle, struck Bundy, entered the north ditch and struck a fence. After being struck by Arce, Bundy lost control of his vehicle, entered the south ditch and struck a fence.
The F-150 sustained approximately $2,500 in damage. The Focus sustained and estimated $4,ooo in damage. Each fence sustained approximately $100 in damage.
Arce was cited for failing to maintain control of a motor vehicle.
