On Sunday, January 12, at 1:11 p.m., the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office investigated a motor vehicle accident that occurred on Highway 60, three miles south of Sheldon, IA.
Derek Shoen, age 20, of Truman, MN was driving a 2008 Chevrolet Silverado southbound on Highway 60 when he lost control of the vehicle, entered the west ditch and rolled.
No injuries were reported.
The Chevrolet sustained approximately $15,000 in damage.
Shoen was cited for failing to maintain control of a motor vehicle.
The sheriff’s office was assisted by the Sheldon Ambulance, Sheldon Fire Department, Sheldon Emergency Management and Sheldon Police Department.
