On Wednesday, December 4, at 5:52 a.m., the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office investigated a motor vehicle accident that occurred at the intersection of Jackson Avenue and Highway 18, three miles west of Boyden, IA.
Harlow Teunissen, age 56, of Canton, SD was driving a 1999 Peterbilt semi-tractor pulling a grain trailer eastbound on Highway 18. Brevyn Kramer, age 15, of Hospers, IA was driving a 1994 Buick Park Avenue northbound on Jackson Avenue. Kramer turned left onto Highway 18 and the two struck in the intersection.
Kramer was transported by the Boyden Ambulance to Orange City Area Health in Orange City, IA for treatment of minor injuries.
The Peterbilt sustained approximately $12,000 in damage. The Buick sustained an estimated $4,000 in damage.
Kramer was cited for failure to yield from a stop sign.
The sheriff’s office was assisted by the Boyden Fire Department and Boyden Ambulance.
