On Thursday November 28, at 4:50 p.m., the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office investigated a motor vehicle accident that occurred on Hickory Avenue, two miles northeast of Sioux Center, IA.
Tania Hernandez, age 22, of Hull, IA was driving a 2013 Ford Edge northbound on Hickory Avenue when she lost control of the vehicle, entered the west ditch, struck a North West REC electrical utility pole and a hog confinement building.
No injuries were reported.
The Ford sustained approximately $15,000 in damage. The utility pole sustained an estimated $1,500 in damage. The building sustained approximately $25,000 in damage.
Hernandez was cited for failure to maintain control of a motor vehicle and no motor vehicle liability insurance.
The sheriff’s office was assisted by the Sioux Center Police Department, Sioux Center Ambulance and Sioux Center Fire Department.
