One arrested and several charged with alcohol violations following erratic driving complaint – September 7

On Saturday, September 7, at 4:09 p.m., the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office arrested Pedro Lario, age 40, of Sheldon, IA.

The arrest stemmed from a call from another motorist reporting a black Jeep being driven in a dangerous manner southbound on Highway 60 near Alton, IA. The deputy located a vehicle matching that description stopped on the shoulder of Highway 60, four miles south of Orange City.

Upon further investigation, the deputy suspected the driver, Pedro Lario, was under the influence of alcohol and discovered open containers in the possession of several passengers in the vehicle.

Lario was charged with operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated. The passengers charged with open container of alcohol in a vehicle were Jose Juarez, age 21, Luis Lopez, age 22, David Angeles, age 23, Marianao Lucas, age 27, and Jesus Rodriguez, age 23, all of Worthington, MN.

The sheriff’s office was assisted by the Orange City Police Department.
