Fingerprinting

The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office School Resource Officer Program fingerprints students as part of educational classroom activities.

Students are taught that no one has the same fingerprints, how fingerprints are used in law enforcement investigations and the different types of fingerprints. They are also shown how fingerprints are required in different types of employment. Each student that is fingerprinted is able to keep their own fingerprint cards provided by the sheriff’s office.

Students usually ask several good questions and really enjoy the experience of learning more about fingerprints and with an actual activity like this, it makes it much more real for them to see and analyze actual fingerprints.
