On Monday, July 8, at 9:39 p.m., the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office investigated a motor vehicle accident that occurred at the intersection of 420th Street and Log Ave, two miles south of Hospers, IA.
Kirsten Glackin, age 19, of Everly, IA was driving a 2004 Chevrolet Malibu northbound on Log Avenue. Emily Haack, age 15, of Granville, IA was driving a 2005 Chevrolet Malibu eastbound on 420th Street. As the two vehicles approached the intersection, Glackin swerved to avoid striking Haack, lost control of the vehicle, entered the west ditch and rolled.
Glackin was transported by the Hospers Ambulance to the Sheldon Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
The 2004 Chevrolet sustained approximately $4,000 in damage. The 2005 Chevrolet was not damaged.
Haack was cited for failing to obey a stop sign.
The sheriff’s office was assisted by Hospers Ambulance and Hospers Fire Department.
